The project of certification of the European Cultural Route ‘Nikola Tesla’ presented in Skradin
On Friday, April 5, 2019, a working meeting was held at the Skradin city administration, presenting the proposal for the project of certification of the European Cultural Route „Nikola Tesla“, and the proposal of partnership cooperation between tourist and cultural institutions from Šibenik-Knin, Lika-Senj and Karlovac Counties.
The project was first presented at a meeting held on January 31, 2019, at the Memorial Center Nikola Tesla in Smiljan, when a working group was formed, and documentation and communication with potential partners is underway. The project was initiated by the Ministry of Tourism, the City of Gospić and the Tourist Board of Lika-Senj County, and the idea is to form and certify the first European international Cultural Route at the Institute of Cultural Routes of Europe, which will have its starting point in Croatia. It is a project that represents a major cultural and tourist asset to Croatian tourism and demonstration of cultural wealth. The main coordinators of the project are Croatian Association for Tourist and Cultural Routes „Tour Cultur“ and Croatian Association for Tourism and Rural Development „The Village Membership Club“.
At the meeting, present agreed on the main activities of the project in the coming period: designing the name and framework of the Route, establishing an international Scientific and Steering Committee, establishing of an Association and drafting the Statute of the Association and Route, designing the visual identity of the project and finding domestic and foreign partners from European countries where Nikola Tesla was educated, lived and worked, as well as the United States of America.
